Children's Encyclopedia of Women
This encyclopedia was begun in March 1998 by third and fourth grade students at Pocantico Hills School in Sleepy Hollow, NY. We have added to it during March and April of each year since then. We are currently in the process of adding to the collection with this student work. The children choose a woman based on a topic they are interested in.

Distinguished Women of Past and Present
This site has biographies of women who contributed to our culture in many different ways. There are writers, educators, scientists, heads of state, politicians, civil rights crusaders, artists, entertainers and others. Some were alive hundreds of years ago and some are living today.

Family History Network
FamilyEducation Network is featuring a special section celebrating the women who have shaped our world this March. Come explore daily women's history facts, women in politics at home and abroad quiz, women pioneers in history, women role models, black women in history quiz, and articles on gender issues in education and child development.

heroines.ca, A Guide to Women Canadian History
An educational site developed by Canadian historian Merna Forster to help popularize the history of Canadian women. Includes biographies, This Month in Herstory, recommended reading for children and adults, historical photos, quotes, info on statues and historic sites, etc.

Lesbian History Project
This site contains a veritable potpourri of information on all aspects of lesbian history -- there are names, dates, events, books, and even links to articles.

National Endowment for the Humanities
NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the United States government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.

National First Ladies' Library
Hillary Rodham Clinton launched a Web site devoted to the history and legacy of America's first ladies on February 22, 1998. The Web site contains 40,000 selected books, manuscripts, journals, newspaper articles and other materials for each first lady.

National Women’s History Project
The authoritative women’s history site, the National Women’s History Project page includes classroom ideas, suggested ways to honor women’s history in your community, a listing of events nationwide, membership information, links, and more.

Schlesinger Library
The Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America Online. Find library visitor information, services, programs and events information. Search the library's holdings, including manuscripts, books and periodicals, photographs and audio visuals, and print out a manuscript request form.

The Emma Goldman Papers
The University of California at Berkeley has collected an array of correspondence and manuscripts by this famousfeminist anarchist. The site features photos, an online exhibition of Goldman’s papers, and selections from her writings.

Women Come to the Front: Journalists, Photographers, and Broadcasters during WWII
The Library of Congress has combed its archives to make this site. The articles and photos on this aspect of women’s history are worth the substantial download time.

Women in World History Curriculum
A growing list of resources, lessons, and information about women in World History plus links to other teacher resources. It is meant for middle school through college teachers, students, parents, history buffs and solicits responses particularly from students.

Women of Achievement and Herstory
A site compiled by Irene Stuber and presented by the Women's Internet Information Network, Women of Acheivement and Herstory features extensive bibliographies of pioneering women, as well as a wealth of information on the topic of women and herstory.
